Big 12 did the right thing...


Sooner, this is a positive move. True, it places a difficult rematch in the path of the eventual Big 12 champion, but it is the only way a Big 12 school can present themselves to the playoff committee with 13 wins. The final game of the season will always be against the 2nd best conference rival, whereas other conferences can sometimes have a relatively weak division winner playing in the CCG. (That situation also carries some risk; the best conference team could be upset by the weaker team, or could win, but not get much credit for beating a weak team.
This is a gutsy move by the Big 12. I think a Big 12 champion will always look strong in the eyes of the committee.
